David is the creative partner behind the Crewe Jigsaw Project taking schools' designs and turning them into a unique work of art. He was born in Nantwich and grew up and went to school in Crewe. After serving in the RAF, he took a Fine Arts degree at Wichester School of Art, and then won a scholarship to continue his studies at the Slade School of Fine Art. He is currently working on a mural at the St Thomas More RC high school, Crewe, supported by a working group of pupils. He is a driving force for Artstation, a collective of local artists who share studio and exhibition space.
There is a growing awareness of the value of endeavouring to tap into other environments' boxes, to broaden perspectives and refresh horizons. David has a particular talent for using the medium of paint to draw people out of the box of their own worlds, be it business, organisation or school, and opening the windows to new environments, relaeasing fresh waves of creativity and effectiveness. He is comfortable working with people from all walks of life.
As a practising Artist himself, David also combines training and practical experience in the teaching of people across the spectrum of ages and backgrounds, along with the practical skills and experience of management. In this capacity he managed the studio and business affairs of a successful, internationally recognised artist, Peter Howson, when he undertook the role of official Bosnian War Artist under commission from the Imperial War Museum.
One of David's Key activities is the provision of Workshops for business teams, for team building and creative brainstorming, using artistc media to unlock creativity and the desire to work together, and employing sound brainstorming techniques for effective outcomes.
He is a valued adviser to businesses on the purchase and hire of works of art to enhance their working environments
